sweat

If it was easy, everyone would do it. But you can improve your mind and spirit by using your body – the endorphins released by exercise are biological magic. Sculpt, transform, heal, achieve, be.

Part of the key to living an active, happy lifestyle is finding fitness you love. You shouldn’t be sweating because of guilt, or because you hate your body.

Biological magic

The key is to find things you genuinely look forward to. This will make leaping out of bed easier, or be the light at the end of a long dull day. People talk about ‘runners high’ all the time, and it’s true – but for all types of exercise. In the words of Elle Woods:

In all seriousness, exercise can help alleviate stress and a range of physical and mental illnesses. Always consult your doctor before embarking on a new programme, but open your mind to be amazed once you’re all clear to begin!

Challenge creates change

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. Carving time out of your day can feel impossible (although when you really try, you’d be surprised to find how much ‘dead’ time you can find, if you limit time on social media, or get up half an hour early), but the results are worth it.

It takes 21 days to create a habit. But once you have that habit, and start to enjoy the benefits of a better body and mind, you start to relish the challenge. Before you know it, you’re not just a lean-fat-shedding-muscle-building-machine, but your confidence, endurance and perseverance capabilities skyrocket.

App

I also would make a personal recommendation of the Sweat with Kayla app, which is available for a monthly subscription of about $15 australian dollars. I’ll post a detailed review shortly to show how it works (with honest pros and cons), and also to explain why I subscribe to it even though I also create my own workout programmes and like to do other forms of activity too. This is not a sponsored post – I genuinely love the app and use it every day, as you’ll know, if you follow me on instagram @legallygymliving.
